Smokeless tobacco and the European Union

Legislation governing the use of tobacco in EU countries is based on European Community directives. Stricter measures and controls in the area of tobacco have become widespread in recent years.

In many aspects, we are regulated by the same laws and regulations as cigarettes. This includes the ban on advertising, etc. The law governing smokeless environments has an impact on us, too - but a positive one!

There is one significant aspect where twisted smokeless tobacco is differentiated from smoking tobacco - i.e. the labeling requirement.

The warning labeled on smokeless tobacco is more lenient than it is for smoking tobacco. Our products must be labeled "This tobacco product can be harmful to your health and is addictive" whereas cigarettes must be labeled with texts like "Smoking can kill".

The fact that the EU differentiates between smoking tobacco and smokeless tobacco in this respect has required tremendously thorough scientific documentation.

It is no secret that smokeless tobacco pellets are a pawn in the big tobacco game. A pawn that it is easy to overlook. We tirelessly endeavor to inform about and heighten an understanding of the difference between smokeless tobacco and smoking tobacco - both at an EU level and in Denmark.

We do not assert that using Oliver Twist tobacco pellets does not constitute a potential health risk.
